Lego has been around for DECADES, bringing fun sets to kids and eventually branching out to other awesome products. The company has been around since 1932 by Ole Kirk Kristiansen. Today, one of Kirk's grandsons owns the company which makes it that much more wholesome!
The family is Danish, so the name LEGO comes from the term "play well," which is "leg godt" in Danish. Ole Kirk was a carpenter and joiner, so he began making toys out of wood using his talents. Over the years his concept of the plastic bricks began to further develop until his LEGO brick system was patented in 1958. This opened an enormous window for possibility and was only just the beginning of a wildly popular brand. It's amazing to think that in just 10 years the company will be having its 100th anniversary!
By the late 1970s, the company released sets appropriate for various age groups, including a space launch set. The official LEGO website came to be in 1996, back when computers were still in their giant pre-Millenium form. And in 1999 the company was dubbed the 'Toy of the Century'.
LEGO began to create merchandise and attire to expand its product base.
Backpacks, bags, and lunchboxes - how fun are these? They even make really cool iridescent and gold bags. There are so many different colors available, just like the actual lego pieces!
Over the last few years, LEGO has been going strong with utilizing sustainable materials to create their bricks and introducing sets specifically made from earth-friendly materials. The company has unmatched innovation and engineering abilities to keep them ahead in the ever-growing toy industry.
For Valentine's 2022, LEGO has some really cute products

Jurassic Park - My family thinks I'm crazy with how obsessed I am with Jurassic Park. But I freaking love it! Every since I was a kid, I have been so fascinated with dinosaurs. I even wanted to be a paleontologist one day. I can remember when the first Jurassic Park movie came out when I was a kid, and from then on, I was hooked! The LEGO sets average between $25 and $50, with a few ranging up to $100, making them a pretty reasonable price point.
Harry Potter - We have a lot of friends who LOVE Harry Potter. And now LEGO has turned the whimsical movie franchise into adorable playsets and products! Ages for these sets start around 6 years old, and prices range from under $25 to over $100 for more complex sets. LEGO currently offers around 39 Harry Potter sets and merch.
Minecraft - A hugely popular name in the gamer world, it is only right that LEGO turned its blocky style graphics into a reality for kids! From a Creeper Set to an Illager Set and everything in between, there are around 25 options for ages 6 and up. Most of the sets are under $25.
LEGO also has puzzles that make for a great family night!
This thousand-piece puzzle will keep the kids occupied for hours with its challenging color setup. If your child loves puzzles you can find all of LEGO's available puzzles here.
LEGO also has keychains! They have mini notebook keychains you can decorate, lego figure keychains, and make your own bag charm sets. These make great party favors for birthdays or stocking stuffers at Christmas time!
